Overview

One of the first things I do when I visit a website is check the privacy policy—if it's nonsense, that's incredibly off-putting! But I designed this site with the principle of collecting as little data about users as possible.

This website respects your privacy. I believe in transparency and want you to understand how your data is handled when you visit smarason.is.

How does this work?

No personal data is collected. This website is built as a static site, which means it's essentially just HTML files delivered to you. It:

• Does not use cookies - no cookies, neither first-party nor third-party
• Does not track your behavior - no tracking, no analytics
• Uses geolocation data (country only) solely to select language preference (Icelandic for Iceland, English for other countries)
• Does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any such services
• Does not require user accounts or registration - you're welcome to remain anonymous
• Only stores theme preference (light/dark) in your browser's local storage

This is simply a website that displays information, like reading a book—except the book doesn't know you're reading it!

Third-Party Services

This website is hosted on Vercel, which may collect minimal server logs for operational purposes. Please refer to Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.

Content is managed through Sanity CMS, but no visitor data is shared with this service.
